How it works

  1. 1

    Pick your CPU and GPU

Searchable lists cover popular AMD Ryzen, Intel Core, NVIDIA, Radeon, and Arc parts.

  2. 2

    Choose a resolution

1080p stresses the CPU more; 1440p and 4K shift load toward the GPU.

  3. 3

    Read the estimate

You get a bottleneck percentage, a plain-English verdict, and an upgrade hint when the gap is worth fixing.

Each CPU and GPU has a relative gaming-performance score derived from aggregated public benchmarks (top parts sit near 100). We apply a resolution weight — CPU influence is full at 1080p, reduced at 1440p, and lower still at 4K — then compare effective CPU strength to GPU strength. The gap becomes the bottleneck percentage. These are estimates, not lab measurements of your specific system.

FAQ

A PC bottleneck happens when one part — usually the CPU or GPU — limits how fast the other can work. If the CPU cannot prepare frames quickly enough, a strong GPU sits idle. The reverse is also true at high resolutions where the GPU becomes the limiter.
